Our designs have been inspired by nature, thoughtfully constructed to simulate our native critter’s habitats. The wooden hotel mimics Australian gum trees, with cavities imitating those made by wood boring beetles, where native bees lay their eggs.
To care for your bee hotel, place it at eye level (1-2m high) with partial sun, shielded from rain. Surrounding the hotel with flowers will encourage it to populate, inviting diverse species like grass carrying wasps, wasp-mimic bees, and resin bees. Finally, limit pesticide use to avoid harming the new residents!
Our designs have been inspired by nature, thoughtfully constructed to simulate our native critter’s habitats. The clay hotel mimics patches of textured soil in the ground where around 70% of Australia’s native bees nest, with holes to invite them to burrow and lay their eggs.
To care for your bee hotel, position it with the open clay facing to the side so that the overhanging carton acts as a protective roof, in partial sun, shielded from rain. Surrounding the hotel with flowers will encourage it to populate, inviting diverse species like blue-banded bees, sweat/furrow bees, and cuckoo bees. Finally, limit pesticide use to avoid harming the new residents!
