Year 11 2027 for Current Year 10 Students 2026
Please follow these steps to ensure you have selected your subjects correctly, and to maximise the chance of a suitable pattern of senior study.
Read through the Subject Selection Book. Carefully consider each course and choose those that you would most like to study. Don't forget to think about:
Your interests
Your abilities
Your teachers' recommendations
Your parents' advice
The kind of assessment used in the course
Any major works or projects
Make a list of your chosen subjects in order of preference, including at least 6 units of reserves. This step is very important - if you miss out on your higher preferences, you will automatically be placed into one of your reserves, if available.
We will try to allocate you to your highest preferences, but none of your choices are guaranteed
If two of your subjects are running at the same time, we will try to place you in the higher preference
Some subjects may not run if student demand is low
Do not choose subjects that you would not be willing to study!
What you will need:
Your personal webcode (this will be emailed to your education email address)
Your list of subjects in order
Access to the website https://my.edval.education/login
Go to the edval website and enter your webcode. If you have lost or forgotten your webcode, click 'forgot webcode' and enter your email address to have it re-sent. Once you have logged in, check that your name, school and Year group are showing correctly.
Enter your choices in order of preference, including reserves. Check carefully any notes or warning messages that appear on the page.
You must select a minimum of 12 units (you can select more!)
Mathematics is not compulsory, but some students view it as a 'non-negotiable' choice. If you definitely want to study a Mathematics course, consider placing it at priority 2 (straight after English).
If your preferred level of Mathematics or English is not shown on the list, select one of the available courses. You will have the opportunity to apply for a higher level course on Subject Counselling Day. Places may be limited and will be granted based on student results.
There are special sections for Extension subjects and external courses - you do not have to prioritise these, though your place in a course may be dependent on your results, as places are limited.
Students selecting one or more Extension courses in Year 11 must have at least 13 units.
If you select an external course, you must also select 'External course' as Priority 6. You will also need to speak to the coordinator of these courses and complete a separate enrolment process.
When you are confident that your choices are correct, press submit. You then need to do the following:
Print a copy of your choices
Have the copy signed by your parent or carer
Submit the signed copy to THE HEAD TEACHER SECONDARY STUDIES by Friday, Week 3. (Ms Kim)
