Best Start Interview

Best Start is conducted at every school in NSW and is a Government initiative. The Best Start Kindergarten Interview takes around an hour and will be conducted prior to your child beginning school next year. This is an individualised interview that helps teachers identify the literacy and numeracy knowledge and skills each child brings to school as they enter Kindergarten. The classroom teacher will work with each child to gain a starting point for planning effective teaching and learning activities. Best Start assists children to move smoothly from informal to formal learning. It provides families with feedback on what their child can do and how they can best support their child’s learning.
