Teaching Notes: Andy Goldsworthy is a British artist, sculptor and photographer. He produces art work using natural material such as flowers, mud, ice, leaves, twigs, pebbles, boulders, bark and grass. This type of art work is called ephemeral art, meaning it only occurs once.

Now it's your turn to create:

• go outside in your backyard, school grounds or a local park
• collect some sticks and leaves and other natural resources
• think about a design element you would like to use - you could show a change in size or colour, or create a shape or line
• choose a 'canvas' - think about an appropriate background for your artwork, e.g. soil, rock or leaves
• create your ephemeral art
• take a picture and send it to your teacher
