Week 1 Term 1

Principal's Message

And so the adventure begins! To all returning students and families welcome back to school and to all those who are joining us in 2018, we welcome you to the Alstonville family.

I am proud to be Relieving Principal at Alstonville Public School for 2018. I have only been here a few days and I can feel the excitement in the air. Teachers are eager to teach, motivate and inspire their students; parents are willing to support their children as they learn; and students are smiling, happy to be here, ready for the challenges ahead. I am looking forward to the year ahead.

The year gets underway very quickly with school events. Our school parliament elections have been held in each class this week, as well as voting for Prime Ministers, Deputies and House Captains. Year 5 and 6 will be heading off on their camps in weeks 3 and 4, while our school swimming carnival will be held in week 5. (Separate notes have been distributed for these events.)

We will be holding our school/class Information Evening next Tuesday, Feb. 6th. Everyone is invited to attend.

I’d like to thank you for making me feel welcome this week. I look forward to getting to meet you all, throughout the year.

In closing this week, I encourage every student to do their best each day, to learn something new because “A little progress each day adds up to big results”.
