The Pathway Standards Documents provide a comprehensive overview of content to be covered in the related pathway. To ensure successful implementation of the pathway, teachers should ensure alignment of curriculum to the pathway standards. The KY Pathway standards are grouped into three categories: Academic, Employability, and Occupational standards. All three categories should be taught to prepare a student for the End-of-Program Assessment.
Kentucky CTE Pathway Standard Documents
Career Pathways reside in the Program of Studies. The Program of Studies is a guidance document for schools to utilize to select four (or more) courses for the Career Pathway being offered at their school. It is a valuable document, but the Kentucky CTE Pathway Standard Documents should drive your instruction.
Each Career Pathway will have a list of suggested courses. Best practice is to ensure most courses for the Career Pathway is chosen from the top half of the suggested course list. Resources relating to Career and Technical Education (CTE) will assist educators in providing quality instruction to improve the academic and technical achievement of students. Documents such as the Program of Study, Valid Industry Certification are updated annually.
Please ensure you are reviewing the current school year.
