Exciting news! The New Business and Marketing Teacher Workshop, scheduled for Sept. 19-20 in Elizabethtown, is just around the corner!!!
On Thursday, Sept. 19, teachers will have training in curriculum, End of Program Assessment (EOP) success strategies, and resources for the business and marketing classroom. Instructional Coach Keri Mosier will share instructional strategies perfect for keeping students engaged while helping assess learning. There also will be a Q&A with discussion opportunities.
Just in time for fall, Kentucky’s new Business and Marketing teachers will experience "A Cornucopia of Teaching" during the Friday, Sept. 20 training. It will be a full day of practical (and tried and true) principles to assist with classroom management, time management and grading management. Participants can expect to role-play and take part in engaging activities so that both the teacher and student viewpoint can be observed.
A veteran of 27-years in a Kentucky Business Education classroom, Jennifer Stubblefield will address current trends and issues that new teachers should consider, as well as offer some tips and tricks on things she learned the hard way. Additionally, participants will discuss the importance of certification and skill credentialling as well as look at various resource options that are in their reach.
Finally, stories will be shared and heartstrings will be pulled as participants consider the best part of teaching -- that of changing student’s lives! Buckle up and come on – you’ll be glad you came!
Attendees are expected to attend both days.
Registration is free. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Travel and hotel will not be covered.
This training is sponsored by DECA (formerly Distributive Education Clubs of America), Future Business Leaders of America, Kentucky Business Education Association, and Marketing and Entrepreneurship Education Association of Kentucky.
Registration is closed, but email Angela Rush at angela.rush@education.ky.gov with questions.
