NEW - Barriers to Education and the WARMTH Framework
We are developing a central Ordinarily Available Inclusive Practice document to describe what is available as part of universal quality first teaching in education settings.
The Department of Education's overarching approach is one of inclusion: a practitioner teaches a child from wherever they are on their developmental journey, and this includes those who may have additional needs.
It is developed in collaboration with educational professionals, practitioners, health colleagues, and parents.
Ordinarily Available Inclusive Provision is the range of activities, opportunities and strategies that are offered to all children, including those with additional needs, without the need for a formal diagnosis or specialist support.
It is expected that most children will have their needs met by universal and mainstream services through an ethos of best practice and reasonable adjustments in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
