EAL CERTIFICATE IN ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY (600/6867/X)

INTRODUCTION

The Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Technologies is a vocationally related qualification that has been developed to provide learners with a greater sense of awareness and insights into the practices and processes of engineering and technology. This qualification allows the learners to broaden their personal skills, knowledge and understanding within the engineering and technology sectors.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

COURSE STRUCTURE

This qualification has a one-year duration. The emphasis of the assessment of this qualification is in a ‘hands on’ approach and the final assessment of the units will take the form of internally assessed practical tasks and externally assessed multiple-choice examination. In order to obtain the qualification, students need to achieve units 1, 2, 3 and 16. Unit 23 is offered as a separate option, allowing students to claim unit certification, additional to their certificate.

WORK PLACEMENT

Learners will be given the opportunity to attend a full week work placement with a local electrical contractor to enable them to broaden their skills, subject knowledge and understanding of this industrial field in practice. The acquired skills will need to be documented in the learner’s logbook.
