FLOWER GARDEN ALONG THE ROADSIDE BELOW SCIENCE LAB

Objectives:

To use the school gardens as a outside teaching classroom and to reconnect students with the natural world.
To inculcate the concept of floriculture in young minds.
To teach students valuable gardening concepts and skills that integrate with several subjects as well as several educational goals, including personal and social responsibility.
To diversify and beautify the school campus.
To initiate the new site development along the roadside.

Duration: March and April Month, 2019

Work Done:

Labelled to the ground along the roadside.

Fencing works were initiated by Mr. Kinley Wangchuk.

Stones, top soil, spades, shovel, pickaxes, crowbar.

DEVELOPED GOOGLE SITE FOR URA CENTRAL SCHOOL

Duration: Started developing from month of March and published in the 1st week of May. Content development and modification is an ongoing process.

Objectives:

Providing a forum for teachers, administrators, students, and parents to exchange information, school photos, to view students result.
Store information such as students result, award days and class photos and other information online for future reference.
To create and display annual school photo album(class photos, staff photos, school program photo) for public view and future reference.

CREATED RESULT FORMAT FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2019

OBJECTIVE:

To develop new result format including new assessment criteria developed by REC with recent change in syllabus for subjects like Histroy and English for classes VII and VIII.
To create same format of student result for all the grades.
To create a zero error academic result for students.

DURATION: April - June(about 12 weeks)

Teachers Involved:

WORK DONE:

Collected the result format from different schools to compare and create the best format.
Collected assessment criteria of subjects for different grades from REC, subject teachers and academic head to validate the result format.
Presented the result format to the class teachers.
Cross checked the student results after data punching by class teachers.
Uploaded the student results on school website.
Printed the consolidated sheet and students results for the academic year 2019.

Focal Agriculture Teacher For School Agriculture Programme

Objectives:

To provide an opportunity to understand Agriculture that provides opportunities for self-employment and entrepreneurship.
To educate youths on the country's favourable climate conditions for growing food and vegetables.
To teach concepts and develop values and skills of Agriculture not only from school campus but also see how others do through field visits.
To teach general concepts and procedures of growing wide range of vegetables common in Bhutan and care for them till they are harvested for sale or consumed.

Students Involved: AgFS students of class IX and X ( 69 students)

Works done and Initiatives taken as a FAT:

Agriculture implementations in the school.
Taught AgFSC for class IX and X students.
Maintained product and sale records of the academic year.
Installed poly-tunnel to raise vegetable saplings.
Installed new green house (20m by 5 m) with the help from Gewog Agriculture Officer and AgFS students.
Harvested and marketed vegetables during mid-term break.
