1.CONTENTS:
The urban structure of the city in Roman times. The two main roads of the city, Cardo and Decumano.
The walls and gates of the city. Civil and religious buildings forum. Buildings for shows and public buildings.
The houses of the Roman city (insulae and domus). Necropolis.
METHODOLOGY:
Explanation of the elements of the Roman city by a museum technician at the didactic classroom by the viewing of a power-point and performing a puzzle / model of the Roman city. The workshop is completed with a guided visit to the Museum and at the same Roman theater in the city. The Museum of the Roman Theater of Cartagena offers the possibility of holding a workshop for the high school - oriented knowledge of theater in ancient times, especially on the Roman Theater in Cartagena.
2.CONTENT
A brief history of Qart Hadast to Carthage. How was the architecture of the Roman theater? Public distribution in the building, what was done in a theater and how the plays were performed? Actors, costumes, masks.
METHODOLOGY
The aim of the workshop is to get a practical way to acquire a body of knowledge about what these great buildings meant through different shows in the Roman Empire, with particular emphasis on the Roman Theater in Cartagena.
To do this, first you will be transferred in a pleasant knowledge needed by a brief audiovisual explanation, so that, having the students worked in groups, they can solve what is apprehended carrying out a series of practical exercises and research touring the museum, obtaining information through the model, interactive, posters and other teaching resources of the museum.
The activity will be completed in the theater, where it will be brought together solving exercises and will be carried out the reading of texts that will create a space for debate interacting with the school group. The aim is that through these activities, students get to understand how they were constructed and what they were these great buildings in antiquity.
3.CONTENTS
Historical setting, the architecture of the Roman theater and its insertion into the city, political and religious role of the old theater. Staging: theatrical genres, authors, actors and costumes. Roman theater today.
METHODOLOGY
The aim of the workshop is that students get a practical way to acquire a body of knowledge about the ancient theater, especially Cartagena. The dynamics of the workshop consists of several parts:
1. Theoretical-part: with a brief explanation and a power point students should begin to become familiar with the concepts.
2. Practice: students will be divided into groups, thus promoting teamwork, in order to get answer through a series of questions. This should be investigated by the museum itself, while most hidden answers between explanatory posters, artworks, videos, etc...
3. Party or theater-forum : the activity will end at the theater, where in groups will read a classic text related to the theater, and then they will draw conclusions and put them together, producing an interesting debate. Some students read some dialogues Host of Plautus, and test the acoustics of the Roman building.
