Jesús Cordero Muñoz has been a professor of Geography and History here at the IES Extremadura for approximately 26 years, this course teaches the bilingual section and 3ºB being that job the only one he has worked at.
He was asked why he had studied Geography and History and he replied that he had decided to study Geography because since childhood he liked to look at atlases, observe special places, learn about other different cultures, other ways of life different from ours.
He is a teacher because he told us that he liked it since he was little, he also told us that he took the oppositions, without waiting for them he passed the two exams and they called him to work, besides being a teacher had always been one of his options to work.
Jesús told us that one of his future plans is to finish his doctoral studies, that he has wanted to finish them for a long time but for different reasons he hasn't finished it.

Luis Jesús Béjar López is one of the Maths teachers in the bilingual section, who arrived at the Extremadura Secondary School last year. He has been teaching Maths for 13 years, being that job the only one he has worked at.
Last May, 27th, he was interviewed and asked what degree he has studied and surprisingly he responded that he had studied Physics because she loves Maths, however these Maths helps you to discover and work out different kinds of problems related to movements among other things. So, they are more practical than the ones in a Maths degree where calculus is more abstract.
In addition, Luis was questioned why he has become a Maths teacher instead of a Physics one, and he replied that he liked teaching secondary Maths more than Physics. Moreover, becoming a Physics teacher involved chemical knowledge and he affirmed that he liked Chemistry but not as much as Maths. Also, he let us know that he was giving class to 1st ESO, 4th ESO and 1st BACH that year.
Finally, Luis was asked if he had any plans for the future and he replied that he would play tennis as much as he can. Also, he would go on learning English, as well as start to learn Portuguese as it is a language he likes.

Benito Castilla Venegas
Benito Castilla Venegas is the technology teacher here in the IES Extremadura, Mérida. He started in this school this year and teaches 2nd, 3rd, 4th ESO and 1st Bach.
Benito studied Electronic Physics. An irrational decision, he said, just because, in 2nd Bach, he had had a wonderful teacher, and he had loved how she explained everything. Some time after he finished college, Benito worked abroad as a computer programmer for IBM but, three years later, he left the job and, because of family reasons and because he realized he loved teaching, returned to Spain.
Then, he became a school teacher without purpose. According to what he told us, he hadn’t liked the job, but life took twists and turns. He declared that he had been able to be a college professor, but he hadn’t liked the atmosphere there and decided to stay in the school. Since then, he has been giving technology lessons for seventeen years. We asked him why he was a technology teacher instead of a physics one, and he answered that he had liked that more than theoretical physics. He likes messing around with devices and computers and, especially, robotics, which is what he has been more interested in in the last years.
Finally, when we questioned him what his plans for the future were, he replied that he wanted to continue learning new things to be able to teach them. He said that old things were old, and they didn’t work any more.
