We try to embed our citizenship work into our curriculum so that all our learners are able to have a voice and feel empowered to be involved in the life and work of the school.
Our learners are 'School Leaders', involved in evaluating the school and looking for examples of good practice and areas that we need to develop. They will also be involved in leading their own learning through our pupil-led interdisciplinary learning. Our learners are involved in the planning and organisation of school events such as fundraisers (Children in Need for example), and other special events such as World Book Day.
As 'Community Champions' we seek opportunities to work with and alongside our community. Last session we hosted a Pumpkin Lunch and invited members of the community to join us in a three-course meal planned, prepared and served by the children.
As 'Global Citizens' we are aware of issues that affect us all on a global scale. After a sequence of outdoor learning last session, we devided that we wanted to find out more about climate change and its effects.
