Welcome to our wonderful small school, set within the beautiful village of Stenton and at the foot of the rolling hills of the Lammermuirs.
Our catchment stretches from within the village itself to surrounding rural areas including Biel, Overfield, Clint, Eweford, Pitcox and Newmains. Our pupils walk, scoot, cycle, taxi or even ride on a horse to meet their friends at the school.
The original stone built school (erected in 1878) was extended in 1998. We have two large classrooms, and an additional room which we use as a library and music room. Our original school bell still hangs in the bell-tower above the school, and we never fail to make our visitors smile when we suggest they have a turn ringing it by pulling on the bell rope!
Our school has a welcoming ethos, and a dedicated and cohesive staff team. We are passionate about providing an inclusive learning environment in which all children are empowered to achieve their potential.
We work in partnership with Innerwick Primary School, under a shared head. Throughout the year, staff enjoy the collaboration that this brings and work together on professional learning and school development. We also bring together our learners for intra-school sporting and learning events.
A strength of our school is our partnership with our families. As a small school, we benefit from knowing our learners and their families well and work closely together to ensure all of our learners flourish.
If you have any questions, please get in touch and we would be happy to help.

Our values were also refreshed in 2023. Parents felt that being kind and respectful were key values on which we should focus. Our children felt very strongly that the value of being inclusive represented that they understand we are all different and that how we learn and achieve is not the same for everyone. They also spoke about the importance of being creative, in a world where ideas and thinking outside the box are becoming skills that are more and more valued.
