We have been asked this term by East Lothian Museum Curators to research some ancient societies, find out why they prospered and create a virtual museum to showcase our efforts!
A challenge for our classes indeed but one that they are very up for taking on!

Our learners embraced this challenge and started asking questions...
"What is prosperous?" "How would we know if they were prosperous?"
"How ancient is ancient?!" "How come the Mayans had pyramids!"
To help answer the question of how we know if a society is prosperous, we were lucky to have an Archaeologist and Curator from the National Museum of Scotland come in to visit all of our classes and explore how artifacts can tell the stories of the past and help us know how a society was getting on. He is also one of our S1 parents so a big thank you to Hugo for inspiring our learners!

Our task masters from East Lothian Museums came into classes this week to help the students explore the role of a museum curator!
