School Dress Code and Kit
Children in Ormiston wear school uniform and I am grateful to parents for sending their children to school in our school uniform. The wearing of this uniform promotes self-esteem as well as pride in our school.
Our dress code is a red sweatshirt or cardigan along with a white or red polo shirt. Trousers, skirts and pinafores should be plain grey, navy or black. Red gingham summer dresses and all in one short suits may also be worn.
Children in Primary 7 may wear a 'Class of P7' hoodie. There are two colours chosen by the children each year.
For P.E. children should have a red t-shirt, dark shorts and either gym shoes or trainers. T-shirts should cover shoulders and vest tops should not be worn.
It is important that every item of clothing is labelled and checked regularly to ensure that the labels are still legible. Items such as wellingtons and shoes should also be labelled.
All the above can be purchased through our local uniform supplier by going online and searching for Border Embroideries. Specific sports t-shirts and hoodies for PE and fitness, waterproof clothing and jackets can also be purchased from this site. Please note that unbranded plain red sweatshirts/t-shirts can also be worn.
PLEASE for reasons of safety, do not allow your child to wear any type of shoe with a raised heel or open toe.
Children in Primaries 2 to 7 should have a change of footwear in school. This avoids mud and dirt being trailed through the building and helps to preserve carpets. Children in Primary 1 do not need to change their shoes in school.
