Cultural Activities in Our
Language Classes
Learning a language is more than just vocabulary and grammar - it’s about understanding the culture behind the words. That’s why we integrate cultural experiences into our lessons, including film screenings, discussions, and related activities.
Why Films?
Films offer an authentic window into the life, traditions and perspectives of the countries where the language is spoken. They help students:
Hear real-world language in context, including accents, idioms and informal speech.
Explore cultural themes such as family, history, social issues, and humor.
Develop empathy and global awareness by seeing life through different cultural lenses.
Engage creatively through follow-up activities like debates, reviews, and cultural comparisons.
What do we do?
Film Screenings: We choose age-appropriate films in the target language that reflect cultural richness.
Discussion & Analysis: Students share opinions, compare cultural norms and learn new expressions.
Creative Projects: Activities like writing reviews or creating posters help reinforce learning.
These experiences make language learning immersive, enjoyable, and meaningful, connecting classroom learning to the real world.
