My interest in BASS stems from my desire to develop an integrated research project within Herdade da Ribeira Abaixo, to interconnect data from various layers of ecosystems, ranging from plants to animals, prey to predators.

Pedro Cardoso

My research focuses on ecology, conservation biology and functional diversity of invertebrates while having an interest in the development of novel methods and computational tools.

Alice Nunes

My research is focused on the response of ecosystems to both natural and anthropogenic global change drivers. I am focused on trait-based ecology to develop ecological indicators of the effects of environmental changes on ecosystem functioning, resilience and ecosystem services delivery, and as a tool to improve strategies to manage, adapt and restore ecosystems affected by global change.

Sergio Chozas

I am a biologist with broad interests in Plant community ecology, and in particular with the flora of Mediterranean semiarid environments. I am interested in the development of sustainable management strategies in cork and holm oak wood pastures, particularly the conservation of small natural features as a cost-effective solution of increasing biodiversity and promoting the ecosystem services of these agroforestry systems.
