A BIG thank you to those who were able to turn out for our Welcome Back evening. Hope you all enjoyed the BBQ!
It was great to have an opportunity to chat with so many of you and to renew acquaintances.
We’re looking for a bit of help with a project to cut down the dust in our Gaga Ball pit (soon to be pits!). If you, or someone you know, would be interested in lending a hand with a small but meaningful project, we’d love the extra support.
Please reach out to Mr. Requa (drequa@sturgeon.ab.ca) if you can.
YEARBOOKS ORDERED IN THE SPRING ARE IN!
If you ordered a yearbook , they have been handed out to students so you should have received your book home.
If you ordered and have not received, please contact the office and we will check around in desks and lockers.
If you forgot to order in the Spring, we have a few extras available. $40
Send an email to jbailey@sturgeon.ab.ca if you would like to purchase one.
Birthday Treats
Did you know - we do announce student birthdays each day and those students are invited down to receive a small gift from the school - they get to choose a great pencil!
Many thanks to Adam Lagace of AURORA VB - Aurora Virtual Reality Centre Inc. - in St. Albert - for dropping off gift cards for birthday students also! An exciting treat...

NEW STURGEON HEIGHTS FAMILIES
Welcome to the hot lunch program. Our names are Amy and Mindy. We are your hot lunch contacts for the 2025/2026 school year.
Sturgeon Heights School uses Healthy Hunger for the hot lunch program. It is an ongoing school fundraiser that is organized and run on a volunteer basis. We try offering a hot lunch opportunity once per week, rotating between Tues/Wed/Thurs (to include both M/W and T/TH kindergarten classes). Through Healthy Hunger we set up hot lunch dates with several restaurants in St. Albert and area. We also plan for an in-house hot lunch (hot dog and hamburger days) roughly once every 6 weeks.
After reading the hot lunch information feel free to contact the hot lunch team with any questions or concerns you might have.

Hello!
We are excited to announce that Tea and Bannock, a partnership between the St Albert Metis District (formerly St Albert-Sturgeon Metis Local 1904) and the St Albert Public Library is continuing this year. Our next event will be on Wednesday, September 17 at the Jensen Lakes Library from 4:00-6:00pm. As this is in such close proximity to your school and is offered as an afterschool event for students and families, we are hoping you will share the word with your school community.
All are welcome, and it is a great chance to interact with other families and Metis citizens living in your neighborhoods. It is a pop-in event so no need to register.
Hope to see you there!
Warm regards,
Phyllis Kelly
St Albert Metis District councillor / Secretary
This year is the 45th anniversary of the Terry Fox Run. We will be having a "Toonies for Terry' fundraising event during our school run. Students will have a chance to throw toonies at a target for prizes. All the proceeds will go to the Terry Fox Foundation.
If you have any prizes you would be willing to donate, the more the merrier! Last year we had a few McDavid jerseys! Packs of playing cards (any type), sports equipment, graphic novels, books, etc.
Date for the Terry Fox Run at Sturgeon Heights has not been decided on yet
