REMEMBRANCE DAY PICTURES, PLEASE 

Every year at our Remembrance Day assembly, we present a video entitled "Sturgeon Heights Remembers". This is a compilation of students/staff holding pictures of their family members who served or presently serve in our Canadian military. Where possible, we like to have photos that show that family member in service or in their service uniform. We update this video every 3-4 years as children grow and some move on from our school.

As this is an update year, we will create a new video and are putting out a call for photos. Please send them as follows:

1. Digitally sent through email to nholmes@sturgeon.ab.ca by Friday, October 23rd (you can take a picture of the picture if you don't have a way to scan but please remove from frame first to avoid glare if possible).

2. Please include the name of the children who you would like to be in the picture with that relative (first and last name and what class they are in such as 4H). These names will not appear in the video, it is just the best way for Mrs. Holmes to "round up" the students for the photos.

3. These pictures will be in a slideshow that is shown in front of the full school and families who attend. It is not placed on social media or in any other public format. 

4.  We are not reusing photos from videos in the past so all students participating will need photos used in previous videos to be resent same as new families participating.

If you have any other questions, please email Mrs. Holmes at nholmes@sturgeon.ab.ca. Please note that submissions after Friday, October 23rd will only appear by themselves (not being held by the children in the school) due to time restraints in putting together the video. We will not be able to include photos send after October 30th.

Parents:  Are you planning on volunteering in the school or on fieldtrips?    Please make sure you have an up-to-date Criminal Record Check on file with us.  We keep them for three years.   If you aren't sure, call or email June.

REMINDERS - OR SOMETHING NEW FOR PARENTS NEW TO STURGEON HEIGHTS

Absences:   If your child is going to be late or absent, please email  shsabsences@sturgeon.ab.ca or leave a message on the answering machine if it is before/after school hours   780 459 3990

Late:   If your child is coming in to the school late, please remind them to stop by the office and let us know they are in the school

Parent Helpers:   Please sign in and out in the book in the office if you are helping out in a classroom or outdoor activity.       We also request that parent helpers have a Criminal Record Check completed and return it to the school asap.  If you require a form to have this done, please contact the office   june.bailey@sturgeon.ab.ca

Parking Lot:   The parking lot / driveway in front of the school is "one way only."   Please take care that you are driving in and out in the correct direction.
