1 EPAL NEAS IONIAS MAGNISIAS is a school with about 500 pupils. The school has pupils from the entire region of Magnisia and has therefore a great regional importance. There are 4 educational sectors: a) Mechanical engineering, b) Construction work, c) Health- Care and Well-being, d) Applied arts.
Our school will seek to be a meeting place for people from all cultures and walks of life. Our educational goal can be described as follows: 1 EPAL NEAS IONIAS MAGNISIAS is a centre that gives the students the possibility to learn independently and share knowledge and experiences. The education starts at the existing level of the pupils, their ambitions and personal skills. Students can enter the labour market just after their graduation or they can continue their studies in higher education.
1 EPAL NEAS IONIAS MAGNISIAS is an open and transparent organization accessible for all people, regardless of their religion, political beliefs, gender, ethnic origin, sexual orientation or nationality, and tolerates and respects the individual identity of its members. The school will provide a safe and welcoming learning environment, in which people respect each other and show high responsibility.
The educational work of the school aims to prepare the students for a professional career and also offers international perspectives about it in an increasingly globalized world.
Among others, the pupils can participate in International Vocational Training Courses. The school is in contact with organizations and individuals in the EU and worldwide. The keywords of our pedagogical work are: personal and individual care, to offer the pupils optimum personal development opportunities based on strength and ambition. The main focus is to provide and develop self-strength and integrity, also to prepare for a lifelong employment and active participation in society.
Volos (Βόλος in Greek) is the capital of the Magnesia regional unit of Thessaly Region ,one of the largest Greek cities and one of the most important ports in the country. It is located in central Greece (320 km north of Athens and 219 km south of Thessaloniki). A natural harbour in the Pagasetic Gulf and a stone's throw from Mount Pelion. It combines all the allure of the sea with the mystical beauty of the mountain , the land of Centaurs. The city is associated with the famed expedition of the Argonauts and Argo ship ,one of the most important epics of Greek mythology.
The wider region of Volos is a place with great history, finding the first signals of culture in the Neolithic period. In the villages Sesklo and Dimini have been discovered the first findings of Neolithic culture in Europe.
Moreover, close to Volos there are the ancient Dimitrias, a town that was built by Dimitrios Poliorkitis in 294 BCE. Today, the ancient theater of Dimitrias is saved. There are also the archaeological region of Goritsa hill, findings of Old-Christian period in Nea Anchialos and the wall of the old castle of Volos .
