The mission of the PYP Library is to support and encourage the development of knowledge, skills, and character of our students which will prepare them to take action for the betterment of their local and global communities.
In our library we work to provide access to resources that inspire our students and staff to think critically and creatively while supporting curriculum and learning. We value academic honesty in the pursuit of knowledge and work to help all members of our community follow their passions and personal inquiries. It is our goal that each individual in our community experience personal and educational growth from the variety of services provided. We hope to encourage a lifelong love of reading in all of our community members.
All members of the KIS community are welcome to use the library during opening hours. The PYP Library is open on regular school days, Monday through Friday, for browsing and checking out books, at the following times:
Please note: students should be supervised by parents while in the library before and after school.

Our PYP library teacher, librarian, and library aide work as a team, meeting regularly with homeroom and specialist teachers to collaborate and integrate research and library skills throughout each Unit of Inquiry.
They also actively support and develop a culture of reading within the school by offering activities, recommending books, running book clubs, organizing our student Library Monitors, ordering books of interest, and holding special events throughout the year.
The library team works with staff, students and families to curate content and provide online resources which support the development of digital literacy. We also encourage multilingual fluency through the provision of reading materials in a range of languages.
