AY 2026-27

All students should be in the correct school uniform from the first day of school as per the package received. 

School shoes

• Plain Black shoes (leather or synthetic) must be worn by all students on non-PE days for all students from Year 3 (Grade 2) and above. 

School Ties

• Boys from Year 2 to Year 13 (Grade 1 to Grade 12) must wear the official school ties as per the uniform. 

• Sanctions will be issued for failure to adhere to this.

PE uniform

PE uniform to be worn on the day only when students are having PE lessons in their timetable.

We need your support to ensure your children are ready for learning in a formal manner. Uniform and appearance are examples of maintaining high standards and reflect the parents responsibility also.

Students may not be allowed to enter the classroom if the correct uniform and black shoes are not worn. 

Boys Appearance

In line with the Ministry of Education code of Conduct, Boys are not permitted to have any piercings or tattoes.

Boys' hair should also be neat and smart and kept short. Whilst we are aware of cultural diversity, with natural hair texture, after consulting with students we have agreed the following for boys with 'Afro' hair heritage. Short, braids or corn rows to be permitted but over-extended hair to be prohibited in line with the Code of Conduct and health and safety.

Hair colour should be natural. Dyed hair or over-extended hair could result in sanctions such as immediate rectification (sent home to attend a Barber shop) and/or suspension from the class or the school.

Girls' Appearance

In line with the Ministry of Education code of Conduct, Girls are not permitted to have more than 2 piercings  and no tattoes.

Girls' hair if long, should be tied back. Nail varnish or make-up is not permitted within school for girls.

Hair colour should be natural. Dyed hair could result in sanctions such as immediate rectification (sent home to attend a Hairdresser salon) and/or suspension from the class or the school.

EYFS spare clothing

In the unfortunate situation that your child has an accident, Parents are requested to send extra clothes with the student name and class labelled, in case required for emergency cases, please.

All students from Year 3 and above should have : Pencil, Eraser, Ruler, set of coloured pencils (not ink or felt pens)

Students in Primary school will write in pencil until Year 5 (Grade 4).

Students in Year 6 (Grade 5) and above are required to write in blue ballpoint pen

• They also need a black ballpoint pen for adding feedback in their books.

• Do not provide fountain ink pens, as they will risk leaking and damage to the child’s bag, books and the class desks.

Students in Year 7 (Grade 6) and above should have a scientific calculator, a protractor (angle measure).

After careful evaluation for child safety, mobile phones are not permitted for any students in Frontline School on our campus.

Inspection and safety checks

• First: Regular Inspections Schools must organise periodic inspections to detect mobile phones. These inspections should be conducted in a manner that preserves student privacy and complies with school regulations.

• Second: Inspection Mechanism Inspections must be conducted in a way that does not violate personal privacy or UAE law, which prohibits physical contact with students. Inspections are limited to students’ bags and personal belongings to ensure transparency and respect for rights:

  1. Self-Inspection: Students will be asked to remove all items from their pockets or bags themselves in front of the inspection committee, without the committee touching their body or belongings.

  2. Confiscation of Mobile Phones: If a mobile phone is found in a student’s possession on the school premises, it will be confiscated according to the procedures outlined in the Student Behaviour Management Regulation. Parents will be notified of the violation and must sign Form 24 upon confiscation and Form 25 upon return of the phone.

Sanctions

• For the first offence, the phone will be confiscated for one month.

• For the second offence, the phone will be confiscated until the end of the academic year.

• If photos of teachers, students, or staff are found, the matter will be referred to the UAE authorities for the necessary action.

Further Disciplinary actions specified in the Behaviour Code of Conduct policy may be be applied regarding mobile phone usage for unlawful or unethical purposes or any actions that harm others, as stipulated in the regulation.

School administration will inform parents if any violation related to mobile phone use is detected, summoning them to review the violation and the actions taken in accordance with the Behaviour Regulation, and to sign the required confiscation forms.

As a school, we use school provided IT for specified lessons and as part of the curriculum provision including a comprehensive use of Google Workspace for Education apps.

However, until we have confidence in the wider infrastructure and culture for acceptable use for technology for learning, we do NOT allow any devices (tablets, laptops, mobile phones) to be brought into school for use on our campus by any students including students in older grades.

To help our students better organise their study materials and lighten their school bags, we have devised a simple book management system. 

This system categorises the books into three groups: 

• those that should be kept at home, 

• those that should be kept in the school bag, 

• and those that should remain in school. Please review the details below:

1. Keep at Home

These books are to be kept at home for daily study and home learning (homework) purposes.

2. Keep in School Bag

These books need to be carried in the school bag daily as per the timetable.

E.g. If your child has Mathematics on Tuesday, then this particular book needs to be carried in your child’s school bag on Tuesday. 

If your child does NOT have Mathematics on Wednesday, then do NOT bring this book in your child’s school bag.

3. Kept in school

These books will be kept in the school to avoid carrying heavy weight in the school bag:

We kindly request parents to ensure that their children follow this book management system to promote effective learning while minimising the weight of their school bags by following their school timetable. 

All books and notebooks for children in Early Years to Year 2 (Pre-KG to Grade 1) will be provided and kept at school (in class). 

As with all policies, please note the schedule is reviewed and updated regularly. We will inform you of any changes to the schedule.

A schedule is shared every September in each Academic Year.

No Trolley Bags are to be allowed in school. These cause hazards on stairwells, in the bus and cause too much congestion in the classrooms.

A list will be issued in September as to which books are to be kept at home as a reference book, and which books will be kept in school. 

Students will only need to bring specific books to school according to the schedule. 

For most days, a few notebooks only will be needed for school which are light and able to be carried in a backpack.

Only Notebooks are required for the first week of school and further instructions about books will be sent later.

A backpack (rucksack) will be sufficient for students.

If they have a packed lunch, a separate sidebag may be provided if the lunch box does not fit in the back pack.

Parents and carers shyould provide a water bottle for their children. 

We provide water fountains throughout the school, but we do not provide cups. Every child is expected to bring in a water bottle that they can top up throughout the day. We encourage children to drink water regularly.

Packed Lunch

If you do not buy from our catering service, please provide a healthy snack and packed lunch.

The following are some suggestions of what to include:

• Fresh fruit

• Raw vegetables

• Sandwiches

• Pasta

• Cheese

• Other healthy foods

Please note that we are a nut free (including Nutella).

To promote healthy eating habits, we request that children do NOT bring sugary snacks such as chocolate, sweets, cakes, crisps, chips, fries and artificial juice into school.

Unhealthy food items could risk being confiscated by staff on duty. 

The lunch bag/bottle should be labelled for children in Early Years and the Primary School.

Please ensure your children are in school by 7:15am and collected by 1:50pm Monday to Thursday and by 10:50am on Fridays during Term time.

Outside of school, it is important students practice, review or prepare their learning. At Frontline, we call this home learning rather than work. This is because learning is more than work. Learning is about gaining and using knowledge, developing and applying skills and retrieving and understanding key concepts and facts.

Each year group (grade) has dedicated slots in the school week where it is expected all students are to complete their home learning.

A schedule will be shared in September.

All sick and leave and student absent requests must be applied exclusively through the school portal (Parent App), along with a valid medical certificate for approval. 

The School Phase Leader/Head Teacher will decide if the Absence request is authorised or unauthorised.

Leave requests via email or phone calls or in-person will not be approved.

Furthermore, parents are kindly requested not to send their child to school when sick, as their immunity is low and their condition may worsen, as well as affect other students.

Assessment or Exam Attendance Policy:

A student will be eligible to appear for the assessment/Unit Progress Check/examination only if he/she attends the full school day. The school will not permit the temporary presence of a student solely for the purpose of writing the exam i.e. we will not allow the student to attend Period 1 and then go home. Logic should inform you that if your child is so ill, they need to rest and recover and if the leave is approved a teacher-assessed grade can be issued instead.

Vaccinations must be completed as per EHS regulations, and parents must submit the consent form on time.

Medical reports should be submitted to the school clinic along with the latest updated report, so we can arrange the required facilities and support for the student.

Please note if there are external School educational visits and Trips (paid or unpaid), if any student has any ongoing or immediate medical issues, the school doctor will assess the case and decide whether the student can participate in the trip.

If the parent consent form is submitted late or the payment deadline is missed, the student will not be able to attend the trip.
