The Work-Oriented Training Path is intended for students who are at least 15 years old as of September 30th. It gives students the opportunity to obtain practical training in the workplace while pursuing a general education adapted to their needs. 

The Basic School Regulation specifies that students should enroll in the Work-Oriented Training Path "if the training path, among all the paths offered at the secondary level, is most likely to meet the student's interests, needs, and abilities". The program consists of 2 separate pathways: Pre-Work Training or Training for a Semi-Skilled Trade.
