The Performing Arts Concentration Program will dive into the world of Musical Theatre where students will learn to develop and master the necessary skills and techniques required to attain a high quality and unprecedented level of performance. Theatre and dance instruction will follow a two year cyclical program, while instrumental and vocal instruction will be provided based on the student’s experience, offering various skill levels.

In the sports concentration program, students will choose a specific sport (hockey, basketball or soccer) for terms 1 and term 2. Term 3 will be a multisport rotation where students will rotate through various activities straying away from their sport of choice. In this program we expect students to be engaged, work hard, improve fundamental skills, and game play within team concepts. The sports concentration program creates an atmosphere where students are expected to balance academic and athletic life.  The balance between academic growth, success and athletic improvement is a unique offering for our students at Alexander Galt.  If you are passionate about sports and want to improve your game, this program is for you.

 Students in the program will receive double the amount of Science instruction compared to their peers. The classes are structured in double blocks, allowing for in depth exploration of the material and application of understanding through exciting hands-on projects. This means more labs, more “doing”, more learning, and more fun!

This Alexander Galt Regional High School concentration will take you on a fantastic journey through a plethora of hunting and fishing related activities and learning opportunities. You will deepen your knowledge of hunting and fishing while protecting and conserving wildlife, giving back to your community, and sharing with others.

The program is focused on three integrated pillars; drawing, art history and studio arts. Drawing is the base of all visual arts; with a strong foundation in drawing students will easily develop and expand their artistic skills. A thorough Art History study, in which students learn about major art movements, styles and concepts, will enhance students’ understanding and application of the visual language. Meanwhile in the Studio Arts sessions, teachers and students will work closely in an enriching and intimate environment. Students will be exposed to a range of visual arts media and techniques. Courses will alternate through the years and will include: Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography, Illustration, Fashion Design, Creative Crafts, Architecture, Printmaking, and Portfolio Design.
