tHE INCREDIBLE BIONIC MAN CHALLENGE

(2013)

The Bloomfield High School robotics team had designed and built a prosthetic hand for Smithsonian's "The Incredible Bionic Man" challenge. It was made from rubber bands, wire, small plastic cylinders, hoses and pumps. With the use of air compression, the fingers of the hand bent up and down. We received recognition from the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. This triumph of ours kept the bar set high for the robotics club, and we look forward to pursuing more challenges such as this one in the near future.
