Building the flower used a lot of our skills that we have learned this year. We first started with cutting out all of our pieces we needed to make the flower. The we had to cut the flower out itself. We used the plasma table which was cool because that ones thing that I'm getting better with using. Cutting the flowers also took a lot of teamwork because of all the moving parts that went along with it. Finally we had to weld everything together. We used a combination of tig and gas welding which was kind of of challenging because it was our first real project using tig. Finally we painted it up and had our product
This sign of my name took a lot of step to be able to get it cut out and presented in this piece of plastic. First we had to make the design in a program called V-Carve. We then turned this design into a G code that the machine would be able to recognize so that it would cut the correct pattern out. After we converted it to a G code we uploaded the code onto and USB drive so that we could plug it in to the machine and run the program. We set the piece of plastic up on the machine and made sure it was secured. We uploaded the program and made sure to set up our home point so that it would cut the design out correctly.
During this project we used lots of math to know how long to make the pieces the right length for the circle. We had to also think about where we wanted the bends to be on the metal so that they came out to look like the design we had on our plan. We had to make a whole plan on how we wanted the design to look. This project took a lot of different skills and thinking to complete
