About your teacher

I am so excited to be at Emerald Hill and teaching third grade again this year. This will be my third year at Emerald Hills teaching third grade. Before Emerald Hills, I spent nine years in the Enumclaw School District. I have taught both third and fourth grade. I have a wonderful family. I am blessed with a husband and two pretty amazing teenagers.

My son is a Junior at Enumclaw High School. He has found his niche in highschool and that is Stagecraft. He loves helping backstage for the drama department doing spotlight and other tech. He has finished Driver's Ed and is waiting anxiously for middle of November when he has had his permit for 6 months and can get his Driver's License. When not in school he likes to spend time playing XBOX. He is into anything superhero related and we have seen every superhero movie that has been made. (Not kidding- every single one multiple times.)

This year my daughter is a Sophomore at Washington State University (WSU). I definitely do not feel old enough to have a college student, but the time flies by. She is a dedicated student and loves to play the violin and has devoted ten years to it. She is majoring in Political Science and plans to go Pre-Law. It is hard to have her so far away, but we take a lot of weekend trips to Pullman for visits.

My husband works in Issaquah. He is obsessed with football and baseball, but especially college football. He is a devoted Coug which at first caused some conflict since I received my Master's from University of Washington, but we have made it work. Hee! Hee! He likes to spend his time going to Washington State Football games and also Mariner Games. We love our Mariners. With our daughter at WSU I am fine with having season tickets for Cougar football. He goes for the games and I go to spend time with our daughter.

We also have two cats. Oatmeal is my daughter's big fluffy loveable cat who we have had for 8 years. Then we have, Kara, who is my son's feisty and loveable cat. She is lots of fun.

I am so excited about this year. I am big on communication and love hearing from parents. If at anytime you have any questions, comments or concerns I would love to hear them. The easiest way to reach me is by email which I check throughout the day and will promptly get back to you. If you would like me to call you back to discuss something, just send me an email letting me know and I would be happy to call you during my planning or after school. Let's work together to make this an amazing year!
