Our fantastic VPO (Volunteer Parent Organization) has been incredibly supportive to our choir. From a small handful of 3 parents that met at Panera in 2011, talked about big dreams ,and raised almost $500 over the course of the year, our VPO has grown into a team of several hundred parents, and some years our budget exceeds $100K. There are SO many ways to be involved - some people can give time or emotional support, some can give small items for the classroom, and some are able to donate for larger financial needs. Let us know if you want to be involved - we'd love to have you!! We have both past and present parents involved, and we also have community members that love this choir, wonderful organizations that have given us grants, and of course our school and administrative support , without which all of what we do would not be possible.
We believe that every choir member should have a chance to participate equally in the opportunities that we offer, not based upon their affluence. We support our students and our staff to provide the best possible opportunity and experience to every kid, and we strive for equity because EVERY kid counts. We support our kids as they travel, we support our kids as they perform, and we support them as they learn in the classroom - we raise funds, attend concerts, and send classroom supplies and SO MUCH food. BE A PART OF IT!
Thank you to all the parents, individuals, and others who have given anonymous gifts that support our students - we have gotten donations ranging from $5 to $6000, gifts of pizza and throat drops and tea and Keurigs and endless cup-o-noodles....we are are so grateful. Not to mention the people who show up to photocopy, to file, who send new whiteboard markers, or thoughtful cards of encouragement. Thank you to each one of you. You matter. We are all in this business of changing lives together.
