Another area of behavioral psychology to think about is the Zone of Control and Zone of Influence, both can be a good way to think about our actions during this unprecedented time. What do I have direct control over? My emotions, my actions, and my responses (washing hands/staying distant/wearing masks/being positive). What can I influence? You can influence others around you by staying calm and rational (talk to friends who are feeling anxious/practice correct procedures to model good behavior). What is completely out of my control? Many of the 'big picture' events and decisions (government response/another country's actions) cannot be controlled at our local one-person level.
