The government also urged the public not to panic buy. In Iraq, the government closed all public spaces such as schools, cinemas, cafes for two weeks. Its citizens are banned from travelling to other countries which has reported case of the virus.

Nigerian authorities expressed confidence in facing the outbreak, saying that the recent West Ebola Outbreak made Africa well prepared. However, the World Health Organization stressed that only 42% of Nigerians have access to soap and water, while 25% have no access to water. Despite this, entry points and crossing borders are monitored by the soldiers.

The Australian government unveiled $2.4 billion in response to the outbreak. 100 "pop-up" clinics are established by health care authorities. These clinics will test people who are concerned if they have the virus. The government stated that the establishment of pop-up clinics aims to divert the people away from emergency ward in hospitals. Medicare items are given, which allows doctors to charge for phone or video consultations for people who are self-quarantined. Doctors forced into home isolation can still provide services via telehealth.

The European Union warned that every country needs to be prepared for the outbreak. EU mobilized €25 billion to "counter the spread of the virus". Some governments closed borders and banned air and land travel from worst hit countries. Public places are closed, schools are suspended, events are cancelled to prevent the risk of infection.
