BEFORE LESSONS BEGIN
Please fill out the Coach and Instructor Survey
If you have completed a Police Check in the previous season, please send a copy to office@edmontonnordic.ca. If you need to complete a Police Check for this season please let office@edmontonnordic.ca know. We are doing Police Checks through the club this year, so our club administrator will coordinate this for you.
At least one week before your lessons begins, please email your class. In this email provide them with an introduction of yourself, a lesson overview, necessary equipment (including clothing), safety information, location information (Goldbar, unless otherwise specified), and skill requirements for the lesson. Please CC lessons@edmontonnordic.ca on this introductory message.
NOTE: Please BCC your students as some students have complained in the past that they do not want their emails shared with other students
Please complete the Instructor Bio Form to have this information available on the ENSC website.
DURING LESSONS
Please have a copy of your class list with medical and emergency contact information (this is included on the zone 4 class list report) available for each lesson. It is mandatory that you take attendance at each lesson.
Please take the time to review the safety resources. It is important that each instructor knows what to do in the case of an injury/incident. If there is a safety incident please fill out an Incident Report Form.
If you would like some lesson planning resources please look here! If you have resources that you think would be valuable for other instructors please send them to lessons@edmontonnordic.ca so that they can be posted.
Remember that the trails are to be shared with other skiers and groups. Please be courteous and communicate with other instructors so that space can be shared!
Please read the following information on rescheduling/cancelling a lesson.
AFTER LESSONS AND INVOICING
Please keep track of your hours and input them in your invoicing sheet. This invoicing sheet will be on Google Sheets and will be shared with you at the beginning of the season.
For each lesson please add 0.5h prep time to each lesson (e.g. a 1.5h lesson you would invoice 2h)
All invoices need to be submitted before the 3rd of each month.
We will send a feedback form to participants at the end of the lessons. This feedback will be shared with instructors to identify where they excel and suggestions for improvement.
TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
We will be holding monthly instructor training sessions for instructors (both dryland and on snow).
