8th Grade Band

Welcome to 8th Grade Band at Sequoyah Middle School! The Concert Band in 8th grade combines all instruments into one large ensemble. Students will prepare and perform various styles of music, from thematic pieces, to festive holiday tunes, to exciting patriotic marches! The band plays at multiple concerts, contests, and festivals throughout the year, as well as several activities that help the transition to the high school band.

Eighth grade is the first year that students perform at OSSAA District Contest in early March. Students are also again eligible to audition for the CODA Honor Band. Emphasis will be placed on furthering technique, enhancing musicianship, and improving listening and ensemble skills through the performance of exciting and challenging pieces of music!
