Lab Attendance Policy
Lab Attendance Policy
Every morning when students arrive, they should scan their attendance QR code.
Any students not scanned in at 8:30 will will receive a 50% point penalty for the day, unless they have communicated with their instructor that they will be late.
ABSENCES AND TARDIES:
Are disruptive
Result in a loss of learning and understanding
Have a negative impact on morale in the kitchen
Can lessen the quality of products
Interrupt the continuity of students' educations
ATTENDANCE POLICY
More than 5 days absent = automatic fail or incomplete
Tardy without notification = minimum 50% penalty for the day in all categories
Tardy with notification = more than 5 will result in a minimum 50% penalty for the day in all categories
Absent without notification = zero points in all categories
Absent with notification = 4 points for professionalism, zero points in attendance, timeliness, performance
On time = ready to work at 8:30am
Notified = email or message before 8:30am

If you use Google Calendar, here are instructions to link your Canvas Calendar with your Google Calendar. This is super helpful if you want to see your Canvas reminders in your everyday calendar!
In Canvas, click on the Calendar tab.
Click Calendar Feed.
Copy the URL.
Log into https://calendar.google.com/
Click on the + next to Other calendars.
Select From URL.
Paste the URL copied in step 3.
Click Add Calendar.
