**If a student does not meet the 684 score requirement in Algebra I and/or English II, then they must create a formal alternate pathway to graduation with the school counseling department. These pathways include military, career-focused activities, college courses, or testing.
Part 1: Complete Courses
Take and earn a minimum of 20 credits in specific subjects
English Language Arts = 4 credits
Mathematics = 4 credits, including Algebra 2
Science = 3 credits, with one being an Advanced Science
Social Studies = 3 credits, with 0.5 in each of the following: American History, Government, World History, and Economics or Financial Literacy
Health = 0.5 credits
Physical Education = 0.5 credits, but can be waived with 2 semesters of a sport, cheer, or marching band
Fine art = 1 credit
Part 2: End-of-Course Exams
Class of 2023 & Beyond:
Earn at least a score of 684 or higher on Algebra 1 and English 10 end-of-course state tests
Part 3: Graduation Seals (Class of 2023 & Beyond Only)
Students must complete two Graduation Seals:
At least ONE of the two Seals must be a State Seal
CPR Certifications
Edison High School offers a course in CPR/First Aid. This course fulfills the graduation requirement for students to be exposed to basic CPR training during high school, while gaining their CPR certification for free. CPR/First Aid class should be taken by all students before they graduate high school.
