Open Court Reading

In our ELA classroom, we use Open Court Reading as our main, tier 1 curriculum.

With a legacy of success spanning over 50 years, Open Court Reading is backed by research into how students learn to read. Yet, the program continues to evolve to meet the rigorous and changing demands of today’s classrooms, as well as the ever-changing needs of students and teachers alike.

Students will receive the core decodables in class from the teacher. They will bring these home in their orange folder after we've practiced it together in class. The practice decodables are not handed out in class and are used as extra practice at home or in intervention. These can be printed out below! Check out the decodable stories table to see which decodables should be used with which unit and lesson.
