The captain’s parents typically run the parents’ meeting with the coaches to start off the season. These meetings usually take place at the school. The meetings should typically cover:

• Volunteer sign-up, either paper or web-based

• Providing a schedule of events for the season

• Obtain the team assessment

• Explain, plan fundraisers

• Contact information and protocol

• Coaching philosophy

• Team expectations

• School and team policies:

  • 1. Student participation and eligibility requirements

    2. Student attendance policies

    3. Chemical violations and penalties

    4. Scholastic eligibility

    5. Equipment use

    6. Racial/religious/sexual harassment and hazing

    7. Practice expectations/requirements

    8. Multiple activity participation

    9. Lettering criteria
