Hornet Website

During the 2021-22 school year the district rolled out a BRAND NEW website aimed at marketing and promotion towards new students and families. While the new site looks great, unfortunately coaches/teams no longer have access to update information on team pages. Team pages are now limited to the following information: 

• Team Schedules/Meets

• Tryout Dates & Times

• Season Start Date & Information

• Practice Dates & Times

• Requirements & Expectations

Below are two options for how information can be updated on your team page going forward:

1. You can send updates or changes to Christine Hanson. Changes will be updated as time allows in Christine's busy schedule, so please be patient! *Please note- If you would like more access to the information added/edited please see option number 2.

2. Your team can create a Google site (or similar) and we can link to your team page https://hornets.edinaschools.org/athletics. For an example of what a coach/captain parent-run site could look like, click on the Cross Country: Girls team page, then click on Edina Girls Cross Country Team Website. Most teams are going this route as it gives you access to make changes as needed, and the ability to share additional information with your team. Below are suggestions of content that might be appropriate to include on your external site:

• About the Coach(es)

• Team Calendar

• This Week’s Opponent – preview of upcoming game(s)

• Game Results

• Hornet Alumni – updates on team alumni currently playing at the next level

• Team Photo Album

• Concessions Schedule – information about volunteer staffing and procedures

• Hornet Record Book – all-time records for both team and individual

• Sports Medicine Information – concussion testing and protocol, trainer

• Captains’ Parents – contact information

• Links – sport-specific links to outside websites

• Training – information and schedules

• Off Season Work Outs

• Off Season Leagues

• Other Information – catch-all site for miscellaneous information

If your team creates exciting and noteworthy news stories, please email the Activities Office so we can add the good news to the Latest Announcements section of the website, and to the Edina Hornets Twitter page. 

Coach Dashboard

Captain’s parents are encouraged to check out the Coach Dashboard. This site contains a wealth of information that may be helpful for captains’ parents as they begin to gain an understanding of how their roles and responsibilities intersect with those of the coaches and the Activities Department.
