Plagiarism is passing off someone else's work as your own. This can include their words, music, images (photos or videos), or anything else that was created by someone else.
People often plagiarize without meaning to by forgetting to include a citation that lets others know where you got the information, music, image, etc.
Plagiarizing can lead to trouble in school (a failing grade, suspension, etc.) or even legal trouble, depending on the circumstances, so it is imperative to always cite your work.
