Making the experience of interacting with a child's school more approachable for parents is a great way to improve that school-home connection. In an effort to help on this front, the ESOL Department will be constantly be working to develop a collection of translated district and school level forms and letters.
If the form you need is not available, you can always assist a limited English-speaking parent complete a form by using Language Link. Please let us know what forms/letters you would like to have translated; we will do our best to support our schools. Check back here periodically - this page will definitely be a work in progress!

If a student is registered without a birth certificate, this letter/form combo can help parents apply for a copy.
The United States Department of Agriculture: Food and Nutrition Services provides this particular form in many different languages. Visit their website to find the right one for the family you are trying to help.
This letter is a must if you want to have a phone conference with a parent over Language Link, but you want to plan the date and time of the call. Make sure the fill in all of the necessary details in both the English portion (on the top) and the Spanish portion (at the bottom). There is even a "tear-off" return slip at the bottom where parents can respond with the phone number they would like used for the call.
Please use the following Spanish-language version of ECSD's R2S Retention Letter when discussing this possibility with Spanish-speaking parents. We are in the process of looking developing a version of this letter to support other language groups in the district.
