Vision

The Māruawai Matariki Celebration has the following vision.

• To establish the kaupapa of Matariki around... 

  1. Remembrance – Honouring those we have lost since the last rising of Matariki.

  2. Celebrating the present – Gathering together to give thanks for what we have.

  3. Looking to the future – Looking forward to the promise of a new year.

• To draw together the many communities across Eastern Southland, South Otago and Northern Southland districts.

• To provide a safe family-friendly atmosphere for all to attend.

• To give our tamariki and rangatahi a chance to shine on the stage.

• To be all things kiwi.
