The Literature classes this year were challenged to write a story which shows the power literature can have to impact social change. They each needed to select a social issue and write fiction which would evoke change in our culture. 

Year 11 Tertiary English students were asked to take a character from the novel they were studying and write from their perspective. Check out some of their insightful responses here.

Some of our students are keen to start their career as creative writers. Here are some of their best works. 

While studying the literary canon, students in Literature classes were challenged to write in the style of various classic authors. Their first challenge: to write either a Shakespearean or Petrarchan sonnet!

THRIVE 2022 is filled with fantastic stories written by our very own student writers at LTC. Click some of the links below to check out their work:

In Semester One, the Literature Classes explored the purpose and impact of Historical Fiction. To show their understanding of the genre, students created their own short story based on an historical event, person or era. Here are some of their stories. 

Delve into the dark and the unknown with the Year 12 Tertiary class: Gothic Fiction. The gothic genre aims to distort and challenge social norms through exploration of the supernatural, ideas of madness, and the concept of reality. 

Science Fiction allows the imagination to run wild with wondering 'what if science could...?'. Enjoy some of our work from Year 12 Tertiary English in this genre.

Read some classic (and some new style) 'who dunnit?' stories from some of our Year 12 Tertiary students who explored the popular genre of Crime Fiction.
