The Canberra Tree Week 2026 poster competition is now open. It is open to all ACT school students aged 5 to 12 years. Entries close Sunday 29 May 2026.
For over a decade Canberra has been celebrating tree week every autumn with a program of community events.
Canberra Tree Week provides an opportunity for the community to learn about trees and the many benefits they provide, participate in a variety of activities, and connect with local community and environmental groups.
This year’s theme is "Why are trees important?" We’re inviting young artists to use their imagination and bring their artwork to life showing the importance of trees in our environment.
Winning entries will receive a certificate and a tree donated by Yarralumla Nursery. Their artwork will be displayed in a special outdoor exhibition during Canberra Tree Week 2026 at the Australian National Botanic Gardens.
