Dear Macgregor Community,
It is hard to believe we are at the end of what has been a very positive and productive Term 1. This Term has flown by and we are already busy planning for Term 2 (first day back is Tuesday 21 April). I hope you all enjoy the Easter break and spend some quality time connecting with your families. Please read on to hear more about initiatives and events happening in and around the school.
School Board News
School Board News
I would like to congratulate Melissa Bakhurst (Parent P&C representative) on her reappointment, and Helen Middleton and Rachel Harris (staff representatives) on their appointment to the School Board.
Thank you to all Board members, past and present, for working collaboratively with the P&C, staff, school leadership and students to keep steering our school in a positive direction. The School Board plays an important role in setting the strategic direction of the school, monitoring progress against our priorities, and ensuring our decisions reflect the needs and aspirations of our community. Their work strengthens transparency, shared decision making and long‑term planning for our students.
Cross Country Carnival
Cross Country Carnival
Earlier this week, on Monday 30 March, our students took part in the annual Macgregor Primary School Cross Country Carnival. It was a fantastic morning filled with energy, persistence and plenty of cheering. Students gave their very best effort on the course and supported one another beautifully, regardless of their house groups. The sportsmanship on display was something our whole community can be proud of.

We were also delighted to see so many parents and carers joining us. The weather turned on a perfect autumn morning, and the atmosphere was warm, positive and encouraging. Staff and families lined the track, cheering students on and helping create a supportive environment for every runner.

In the spirit of fun, I dressed up as a giant hare in a very bright fluoro tracksuit. Staying true to the classic tale of The Hare and the Tortoise, I even took a nap under a tree… and was promptly beaten by every other competitor.

Thank you to Tara and the Cross Country Team for their organisation, and to all staff, students and families for making the event such a memorable day for our school.
