David Hernandez

6th World History

Mr. David Hernandez teaches 6th grade history. He is married to Denise, who is a preschool teacher at ECS. They have two boys who attend ECS. David is a historian and entrepreneur. He has founded a handful of corporations that are still operating in the state of California. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Cal State University of San Marcos. David taught Bible for three years at Calvary Chapel as a youth group leader. He has also served at Maranatha Chapel. His passion and desire is to help educate others and encourage them in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mr. Peter McKinlay

7th Grade Geography & 8th Grade U.S. History

Mr. McKinlay is a loving husband and father of 3 girls who all attend ECS. Peter attended ECS himself, graduating in 1988. After finishing at San Pasqual High School, he graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Business Administration. Peter also played tennis for the University of Oregon for a brief stint. He worked as a business manager for 7 years prior to a career as a regional field sales manager for another 5 years. Mr. McKinlay has been working at our school for the last 3 years. He holds an ACSI multiple subject teacher certification. Peter is thankful to the Lord for his salvation and sees his #1 goal in raising his children as making sure they know Christ for the loving Savior He is. Mr. McKinlay is very excited to help children grow in Christ and become strong young minds.
