About The Authors 

First author Emily Waterhouse (right) is a senior geosciences major, earning her B.S. in three years. While this research project began in Eckerd's Scientists At Sea Program (SAS), she has continued this research in an independent study during her last semester. Co-author Kasey Laguna (left) is a junior with a double major in geosciences and animal studies and a minor in art. As the new sedimentology mentor in SAS, she will continue various, similar research topics into next fall.
