Connecting Android Devices to ECwifi
Operating systems made by Google (i.e. Android) ask users to choose the network settings for secure wireless connections. This makes the process of connecting to Ecwifi a little more complicated than simply signing in.
Getting Connected
To connect your Android device to Ecwifi, open your Settings app, select Network & Internet, then select Wi-Fi.
Recommended ECwifi settings:
EAP method:
PEAPPhase 2 authentication:
MSCHAPV2CA certificate:
Use system certificatesDomain:
(type) campus.eckerd.eduIdentity:
your Eckerd Username
[Note! If you have an older Chromebook you may need to enter username@campus.eckerd.edu]
Anonymous identity:
[blank]Password:
your Eckerd password
Different Options
Some devices don’t support all of the security options recommended above. If under CA certificate you don’t see “Use system certificates,” you should select Do not validate instead. If you do, you will no longer see a space asking for your Domain, and you might see red text saying “No certificate specified. Your connection will not be private.” Your connection will still be secure.
