I chose to include the video about Lawrence Guy because it was a huge hit with my kids! They were beaming with pride knowing that someone who plays professional football has a learning disability just like them. I use this video in my classroom because I believe in inspiring my students. I want them to know that they can and WILL do anything they want to, as long as they set their mind to it and never stop believing in themselves. A learning disability will not stop them from reaching their full potential.
Please remember to always encourage your child. Remind them how great they are. Praise the little things like reading a word correctly, because the things that seem little to you, are huge to them!
