Where we started

Our school sent a team to the Nueva School Design Thinking Institute. We came back inspired to bring Design Thinking to all of our kids. Here was our kick off presentation.

Student Design Thinking Projects

4th grade interviews classmates to learn about their challenges. Throughout the process designers have to check in with their users to get feedback on their work. Here are a few of the projects students have agreed to share publicly.

Fifth grade has connected with a public school in Portland. They have a website we are using to get information from our users. We have created videos, written surveys, and drafted some initial ideas. In these videos some of the students share their first ideas.

Leading The Field

Our approach to Design Thinking with our youngest students, "Design Thinking With Puppets" has been adopted by several other schools and we have shared this program at SXSWEDU in 2017, and ReMake Education in 2017 and 2018.
