You are here for a common goal; to learn, improve AND contribute to the success of your ensemble as well as the program.
Consequences
After the "First and final warning" the consequences will be followed in below order:
This is the order of consequences in each class time period. If a student is receiving these consequences on a regular basis it may result in low grade or "no credit" and it will be followed by the next set of consequences which are decided and executed by the school administration.
1. Posture: When singing sitting up. Both feet on the floor, back straight, holding music up off the lap, facing the conductor while rehearsing.
2. Bringing all materials to class: Binder, music, pencil, blue/pink book. Also bring your enthusiasm to learn and challenge yourself (Be open to changes, new ideas, repertoire and techniques).
3. Preparedness for class: Get to class on time with your blue/pink book solfege homework handed in on time. Practice regularly (20 mins/6th Grade, 25 mins/7th grade, 30 mins/8th grade as per Fieldston Student Handbook)
4. Proper focus/attention on music and teacher (not friends) during class.
5. Watching the conductor for entrances and cutoffs/following musical and classroom direction/instruction.
6. Silent practicing (not engaging other students with conversation, students should be actively listening and engaged with their music) in between instruction and between songs.

8. Having a positive and cooperative attitude while performing with the correct section and ensemble. Always sing to the best of your ability being respectful and understanding to one another. Use language that is constructive, supportive and kind.
9. Use the bathroom before class begins. If you need to use the bathroom, please let Dr. Hayes or Dr. Faiman quietly know in between songs.
10. No food or gum chewing.
11. Tissues – quietly take a tissue, face the door, blow your nose quickly, throwing tissue in the trash and sit down without interrupting rehearsal. Tissue boxes will be on both sides of the room.
12. When the teacher is speaking to another student, please refrain from interrupting.
