The online application process becomes available via Google Classroom. You must log into Google and join the SGA Elections Google Classroom in order to complete your application. The class 2021-2022 class code is zjo5rki. All forms must be submitted via Google Classroom by the appropriate deadlines. Teachers will have access to the Recommendation Forms via their email. Students must ask 2 teachers to complete the form for them.


THURSday, august 19

A MANDATORY candidate meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m in E101. Teachers of candidates will be notified and students will be excused for the duration of the meeting. Candidates must attend this meeting to run for office. Anyone who cannot attend must notify the SGA sponsor BEFORE the day of the meeting. Completed applications and letters of recommendation should be submitted via Google Classroom by Thursday, August 19. Anyone who has not completed their application (including letters of recommendation) by 5:00 pm will not be allowed to run for office.


FRIday, august 20

Candidates will receive the official candidate list. Students who fail to qualify will be notified and given reason. Campaigning is NOT allowed until the following Monday.

Record a short (1-2 minute) campaign statement explaining why you are the best candidate for this position. Submit it under the "Campaign Video" assignment on the SGA Candidates Google Classroom. This video will be available for students to watch during the voting process.


MONday, august 23

Campaigning begins. In order to monitor all campaign activity, online campaigning is only allowed via Instagram. The use of any other social media to campaign is prohibited. All Instagram campaign posts must tag @slvelections and use the hashtag #2122SLVElections. An acknowledgment of the Campaign Guidelines is part of the online application process. It is STRONGLY recommended that you print a copy of this when completing your application.


Friday, september 3

Students will vote through their 1st hour class according to their respective grade level using official voting booths from the Secretary of State. After all students have been given the opportunity to vote, ballots will be counted. All candidates will meet in E101 for the election results at 1:30 pm. After all candidates have been informed of results, election results will be announced via intercom and Instagram at 2:00 pm.
